Logline              When bookish young American Sylvia Beach opens Shakespeare and Company on a

quiet street in 1919, many of the most prominent writers of the Lost Generation—including Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, T.S. Elliot, Gertrude Stein, and James Joyce—consider the bookstore a second home and when Joyce´s controversial novel Ulysses is banned, Beach takes a massive risk and publishes it under the auspices of Shakespeare and Company.

Project Type     Feature–length Dramatic Historical Film (or Limited Series)

Writers              The film is based on The Paris Bookseller, a best-selling historical novel by Kerri Maher.

Appropriate screenwriters have been identified for the project.  One such Emmy Award Winning screenwriter is currently reading the novel and is considering writing the screenplay.

Director             Appropriate award–winning directors have been identified.  Once a script is available,

directors will be contacted, one-by-one, until the director for the project is located. 

 

Actors                Award–winning actors to play Sylvia Beach, Adrienne Monnier, James Joyce, and

Gertrude Stein and other writers and bookstore supporters of the day, have been identified.  Once a script is available, actors will be contacted.
