Logline In order to support and protect her eleven children, Juana Briones, an undaunted and illiterate medicine woman, leaves her alcoholic physically abusive husband to become
a thriving entrepreneur in 19th century California as it transitions from control by Spain,
to Mexico and then to the United States

Writers The film is based on Juana Briones of 19th Century California, a historical novel by Jeanne Farr McDonnell . An award-winning screenwriter with a great love for this
project has been identified and looks forward to writing the script. We are in the
process of raising development funding for the writing of the script.
Director Appropriate award–winning directors have been identified. Once a script is available,
directors will be contacted, one-by-one, until the director for the project is located.
Actors Award–winning actors to play Juana Briones, and other
citizens of early San Francisco, have been identified. Once a script is available, actors will be contacted.
